Dr. Karan Mehta is a board-certified plastic surgeon with a practice focused on cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face. He uses a tailored approach to each patient to achieve the utmost precision and highest standard of care. He is known for his compassionate bedside manner and excellent surgical skills.

Dr. Mehta earned his degrees through a competitive, accelerated 7-year B.S./M.D. program at the Sophie Davis School for Biomedical Education and Albany Medical College. Demonstrating exceptional academic excellence, he graduated as Valedictorian (summa cum laude) of his undergraduate class, received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence, and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society.

During his medical training, Dr. Mehta dedicated a full year to basic science research in the Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone Health, focusing on advanced methods to optimize wound healing. He went on to complete a rigorous 6-year Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center, where he also served as Chief of Resident Education. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Mehta brings his elite credentials, research background, and artistic vision to his private practice in New York.

My scar started reacting, and formed keloid, due to permanent sutures left behind on that previous surgery. Dr.Mehta was able to remove the old bad looking scar, and  remove the stitches that were previously left behind, leaving a beautiful scar. I would recommend Dr.Mehta, because he is a very responsible Doctor, he is one to keep in touch, responds quickly to any concerns, before and after surgery. I had a concern a year later after my scar revision and Dr. Mehta did not hesitate to reply and see me to help me out. He is truly a gem, and I am very thankful for him.

He recently performed my upper and lower blepharoplasty, and I cannot imagine how it could have been done any better.  What impresses me most is how precise the suture was.  The stiches were just removed the day before yesterday, and I can already tell that any sort of scar line is going to be undetectable since the work was aligned so perfectly with my natural eyelid crease and was done immaculately.  I can appreciate this precision even more so, because a loved one works in several plastic surgery offices and says that this level of execution is not always the case, even among reputable surgeons.  I am grateful that Dr. Mehta was recommended to me so that my procedure was done to the highest level of quality, and will be adamantly recommending him to my friends and family.
